Introduction
Our Department of Surgery region is responsible for the medical attendance of 75 000 people living in Ózd and its neighborhood.
At our department we provide medical attendance and perform surgery on general surgical and trauma patients. In the Central Operating Room, 2 aseptic and 1 septic operating rooms are at our disposal for carrying out the surgeries. We have the opportunity to carry out laparoscopic and arthroscopic surgeries (gall surgery, hernia surgery, knee-joint surgery etc.) and, in case of alimentary canal surgeries, to use modern stomach- and bowel sewing machines. Thereby the surgical burden of our patient can be minimized, their medical attendance in the hospital can be shortened. The examination, and the necessary exchange of bandages following the surgery of the inpatients happens separately in aseptic and septic bandaging rooms.
Outpatient care takes place during the working hours, in one traumatology and one general surgery clinic, constructed in the clinic wing. For the surgical attendance of our outpatients a separate ambulant operating room has been constructed. In this operating room we carry out minor surgical interventions on the basis of advance bookings (removal of skin- and hypodermic deformations, birthmarks, fat- and sebaceous glands etc.).
Medical attendance of acute surgical and trauma cases, freshly wounded patients takes place in the Emergency Department.
